President Donald Trump on Tuesday appeared to call for the "unconditional surrender" of Iran while suggesting the U.S. was poised to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!" he posted on Truth Social. In a separate previous post, he further suggested the U.S. was prepared to kill Khamenei.

"We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now," he said. "But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
